“This will truly be a beautiful, inspirational night out.  I encourage everyone to call their friends and family and make it out for this event." said Kim Neal, Director of Marketing & Provider Relations and coordinator of the Healthy Woman program at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.  "Our Healthy Woman advisory council puts in many hours to make certain every detail is perfect and we are extremely excited to bring another national speaker to our community.  This event is open to anyone, women, men, children - everyone will be inspired by Smart's story.”

Elizabeth’s abduction and recovery has motivated and continues to motivate parents, law enforcement and leaders worldwide to focus on children’s safety. She emphasizes the vigilance of everyday people in finding missing children and the belief that there is always hope; we can never stop searching for each and every missing child. Elizabeth’s example and life now is a daily demonstration that there really is life after a tragic event. Her speech will not only tell her story, but also discuss topics such as overcoming extreme adversity and not allowing your past to dictate your life's future.

Smart is currently involved in the “Elizabeth Smart Foundation”, and she has helped promote The National AMBER Alert, The Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act and other safety legislation to help prevent abductions. Elizabeth is also a News Correspondent for ABC News.
