Healthy Woman Supports AHA Go Red For Heart Month

Foley, AL (March 5, 2010) - Members of the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center (SBRMC) Healthy Woman program celebrated Go Red For Heart Month by wearing red to a luncheon held at Craft Farms. The luncheon was also a fund raiser for the AHA. Each lady brought a purse and donated $5 to swap a purse. The proceeds from the purse swap were donated to the AHA. The ladies raised over $550 from the purse swap as well as an auction of a Louis Vuitton purse and wallet.

J. McLean Trotter M.D., with Cardiology Associates gave a presentation on Women's Heart Disease and how it's symptoms are different for women than men. Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in women. Dr. Trotter stressed to the ladies to be aware of the symptoms and to have regular check ups.
