South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Named to Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for 2012

Foley, AL (August 1, 2012) – South Baldwin Regional Medical Center (SBRMC) has been named to Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for 2012. It is only one of two healthcare organizations in Alabama to make the prestigious listing, which recognizes 100 “outstanding” healthcare employers, including hospitals, physician practices, insurers, suppliers, and consulting groups.

The annual awards program honors workplaces in healthcare that enable employees to perform at their best, allowing them to provide patients and customers with the best possible care and services.
Healthcare organizations around the country participated in surveys of employee satisfaction, which was narrowed to a list of finalists that will be recognized at a special dinner in Nashville on October 9. The full list of ranked recipients will be published in a special supplement to Modern Healthcare on October 14. Research shows that having employees who are pleased with their workplace and happy with their jobs leads to better care and more satisfied patients.

The Modern Healthcare “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” list was compiled using information gathered from employers and employees of companies with at least 25 employees as part of a no-cost application process. For the application, employers completed a survey detailing their policies and practices, benefits, and employee demographics. Meanwhile, employees were asked to evaluate their employer in eight areas, including:

• Leadership and planning
• Culture and communications
• Role satisfaction
• Working environment
• Relationship with supervisor
• Training and development
• Pay and benefits and
• Overall satisfaction
