Foley, AL (April 10, 2012) – Rebecca Massie and Kenny Pfeiffer earned the title of overall male and female 5K race winners, respectively, at the 2012 Diva Dash 5K and Family Walk (formerly known as the Stargazer Run) hosted by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. Proceeds from the Diva Dash benefited uninsured and underinsured women in medical need through Ecumenical Ministries.
Despite the rain, runners and walkers of all ages took to the streets of downtown Foley for the 5K race, 5K race/walk, and 1 mile fun-run sponsored by Bancorp South. Dr. Art Holmes of Foley again served as the events race director. The St. Benedict Catholic School Cheerleaders cheered for the participants as they crossed the finish line. Food provided by Events by Michelle McConnell, drinks served by United Bank, fun, and a costume contest immediately followed the run. Diva Dash race winners in each age group were crowned with tiaras and donned with boas. Michelle White Originals donated photography services for the event. The City of Foley Police Department directed traffic along the race route.
