South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Recognizes Employees of the Month and Quarter

Foley, AL (March 8, 2010) - South Baldwin Regional Medical Center recently announced the winners of the employee of the month and the Dr. John Foster Patient First Award for the first quarter of 2010. The award is given to an employee who has been nominated by their peers for outstanding patient care and service to the hospital. The recipient of the Dr. John Foster Patient First Award receives a check for $250, free meals in the dining room for a quarter, a picture displayed in the dining room for a quarter, an individual plaque and is eligible for Employee of the Year.

Employees of the month receive a check for $100, free meals for a month in the dining room, and Employee of the Month paperweight and are eligible for the Dr. John Foster Patient First Award.

Employee of the month for January, is DeDe Newman. Newman serves as a clinical nurse leader on the Intensive Care Unit night shift. She also is a preceptor for new staff and also for the students at Faulkner. She serves as a code gray and code blue representative and is highly regarded as an excellent nurse by physicians with patients on the unit. Families love Newman because she always takes time to explain everything in terms that they can understand.

Employee of the month for February and the winner of the John Foster Patient First Award is Trey Williams. Williams has been with South Baldwin Regional Medical Center since 2004 and serves as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. Williams serves on the code blue, and code gray teams, serves as a preceptor for new hires in orientation and works with the practicum nursing students from Faulkner. He readily assists staff in other departments to start IV's, and is considered one of the most knowledgeable nurse resources for the staff in critical care departments as well as throughout the hospital. Patients and their families have sent numerous letters to administration praising his nursing and communication skills.

Employee of the month for March is ICU nurse James Stallworth. Stallworth was nominated by his peers and cited for his dedication to providing excellent patient care and his willingness to lend a helping hand to all of the nurses on the unit. Stallworth is an excellent role model for all employee's and is respected by the physicians for his dedication to his patients and his clinical skills.
